#46 invalid Not the greatest little program. anonymous anonymous
Description

in todays world of developers, any program no matte how big or small, should be simple to deploy. If you want people to use email2 Trac, how distributing a windows installer, and a Linux RPM file which will make installing the program and all its dependencies trivial.

its seems easier to build my own version of a program that does the same thing, than to get yours working.

and Ive seen your source code, there is not much there so, it should not be complicated to get something which such few lines of code to work.

so, in the future, why don't you create a windows installer, and the Linux, Mac equivalent to get this to work with a click and filling in a few lines of text.

the installer should take care of all the rest, if you need fetchmail and its not install, let the installer you provide install it and configure it properly.

or is there something that does this already?

Description

Hello email2trac people,

The documentation says that ticket update by E-mail is possible.

There is an example where ticket 1529 is updated by putting '#1529' in the Subject line. ( the example could be read as that '[hic] #1529:' should be in the Subject line )

What is needed to update ticket 1529 by E-mail without modifing the Subject line?

#66 fixed Setting ticket fields during ticket creation anonymous pawel.pruszkowski@…
Description

Hello,

There is a possibility to set some ticket fields when updating the ticket. It is done by creating a proper email subject, for example:
"[project] #1234?component=test,milestone=1.0 Ticket summary"

What I would like to have is doing the same thing during ticket creation. It could work like this: last line (or each line) of description could be checked for certain characters. For example, line like this:

trac: component=test,milestone=1.0

would set fields component and milestone to proper values. Of course the line itself should not appear in ticket's description. I tried to implement this myself, but I don't know neither Python nor Trac architecture well enough to do this.

Please tell me if implementing such new feature is possible and if it is, when it will be available. Thanks!
