#296 fixed A small patch that adds a configurable strip_signature_regex bas steverweber@…

Find attached... A small patch that adds a configurable strip_signature_regex

We have been using email2trac for some time and been maintaining a private copy with a small change.. I feel it would be best if it was merged into your version of the..

The attached file is in .py format and differs a little because I just need the simple script..

Anyways it allows email2trac.ini to have a.. strip_signature_regex = -----Original Message-----$|-- $|--$

it adds

    def setup_parameters(self):
        if self.parameters.umask:
        if not self.parameters.strip_signature_regex:
            self.parameters.strip_signature_regex = '^-----Original Message-----$|^-- $|^--$'

    def strip_signature(self, text):
        Strip signature from message, inspired by Mailman software
        self.logger.debug('function strip_signature')

        body = []
        for line in text.splitlines():
            if re.match(self.parameters.strip_signature_regex, line):

please merge something along those lines into the trunk/master.. I probably should have compiled the regex instead of using it like i did wasting cpu... but you should get the idea..

#93 duplicate Attachments are added to tickets, but are broken bas planktr@…

I have email2trac working on a Windows server using fetchmail+Cygwin. I have also had luck with GetMail?. Messages are being retrieved from Exchange 2003 server. I've tried using POP3 and IMAP. With either tool, attachments are being created on the tickets, but they don't open. For example, an image attachment is added to the ticket, but when clicked on, the file appears as a broken image. In the trac attachments folder, there are image files that are of the expected size, but they don't open.

Is there a configuration setting that would impact this?

When using GetMail?, i enabled the extract option and the attachments were stored separately, so i assume the attachments are arriving with the messages, it just seems like they aren't making it through the email2trac script.

Any ideas?

#167 invalid attachments cause an infinite loop bas ubuntu@…

Hi, I've been using email2trac and I absolutely love it. Thanks!

However, I've discovered a critical bug. When a user submits an attachment, email2trac gets stuck in some kind of infinite loop, and it reprocesses the email (and the attachment) dozens (or even hundreds?) of times. The attachment gets added to the ticket many, many times, and I'm forced to just delete the ticket to clear up the mess.

Has anyone else seen this?

I'm a Python developer and I'm happy to troubleshoot this problem (and submit a fix), but I need to know where to look.

email2trac gets its emails (and attachments) from fetchmail. So I guess it could be fetchmail causing the problem...(?)

If anyone else sees this please post here, so I know whether or not it's just my particular configuration...
