  • Currently have postfix setup with /var/trac/aliases owned by the 'apache' user, which is how trac runs.
  • running Python 2.5.5
  • aliases file looks like
    trac: "| /usr/local/bin/email2trac --project=atol"
    d318-support: "| /usr/local/bin/email2trac --project=atol --ticket_prefix=d318support"

  • trac is installed in /var/trac/atol
    • db file is writable by user 'apache'
    • world has r-x perms on all dirs
  • I *CAN* get it working as root using your msg.txt:
    root@myhost # /usr/local/bin/email2trac < /tmp/msg.txt
    saving email to /tmp/tmpdeh4T6.email2trac
    writing body to /tmp/tmp2DcydZ.email2trac

  • but does *nothing* using run_email2trac j
  • selinux is disabled
  • email2trac.conf is simple

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to solve this .. and am truly flummoxed. I've tried the system /usr/bin/python ( Python 2.4.3 ) .. didn't make any difference. I am not getting enough info from the error to find the problem. Any suggestions on how i can get more info out? The response in the mail is long and just repeats:

 "/usr/local/lib/python2.5/logging/__init__.py", line 753, in emit
    self.flush()   File "/usr/local/lib/python2.5/logging/__init__.py", line

    self.flush()   File "/usr/local/lib/python2.5/logging/__init__.py", line

  • All I get in the output log is
email2trac atol: Found trac version: 0.12
    email2trac atol: Loading environment /var/trac/atol

#242 fixed Identifying reporter sometime fails with bi-case email addresses bas dmcr@…
Description

Hi Bas,

I had a reporter who updated a ticket he had created; and since email2trac did not recognize him as the reporter, it started a new ticket (while using ticket_permission_system = update_restricted_to_participants).

It turned out to be due to the reporter sometimes using a bi-case email address, and email2trac not always using the lower() method to standardize the addresses.

The attached patch fixes this case, and other similar ones.

Best regards,

Dennis McRitchie?

#244 fixed SpamFilter is disabled/undef, but external mails fail to get through bas birgit-nietsch@…
Description

I have set up and tested email2trac and came across this problem: Mails from inside our network are nicely being processed into tickets, but mails from external mail servers will bounce:

<my-example@my.example.com>: Command died with status 1:
    "/usr/local/bin/run_email2trac --project=example --ticket_prefix=XXX". Command
    output: -Metadata-Version: 1.0 -Name: TracSpamFilter -Version: 0.4.6
-Summary: Plugin for spam filtering -Home-page:

    -Author-email: info@edgewall.com -License: BSD -Download-URL:

License :: OSI Approved :: BSD License saving email to
    /tmp/tmpO0gAmo.email2trac writing body to /tmp/tmpnNgKeZ.email2trac

This always happens, no matter what I do with any spam filter options. Even if any spam filters are switched off/undefined, external mails will still be bounced.

Here is my email2trac.conf:

I'm using trac 0.12.2 on OpenSUSE 11.4 and I've built email2trac with: ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc --with-trac_user=wwwrun --enable-python --with-mta-user=nobody
