Hi Team,

Please help me with ready documentation on the same, if any available.

There is plenty of doc available on the web and wiki. Did you ever setup/configure MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) like postfix, exim, .. before.

The email2trac/postfix is used a lot and well documented on the wiki.

Did you install a deb package or compiled it from source?

Hi, thanx for the update, i have installed deb package using commands as below

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install trac-email2trac

tar -xzvf email2trac.tar.gz

cd email2trac-1.6.0/

aptitude install build-essential cdbs chrpath

dpkg-buildpackage -B

and my current version is email2trac-2.12.2

Please guide me on MTA and this is my first setup and also let me how to compile it?

Finding problem at

cannot find this path on server : ( default : /etc/aliases)

Postfix: Edit your alias definition file (default : /etc/aliases) for Postfix and add one line per project you want to allow ticket submission from email to.

tracproj: "|/usr/bin/email2trac <see command line options>

also problem to setup whole Note for postfix.

Hi Team,

Is any one available to help on above queries?

comment:12 Changed 18 months ago by bas

I think you have to read some postfix docs and how to configure aliases. Google can help a lot. It will help you a lot to gain some knowledge:

  • postconf | grep alias
