Possible to give examples of usage on the wiki?

This sounds fantastic, but I am having trouble understanding what a user actually sends in their email when using email2trac.

Is it possible to add some examples of usage, for a recommended workflow/configuration? E.g. show the emails to:

  • add a ticket
  • append a comment
  • append an attachment (if that is possible).

  • Owner changed from bas to anonymous
  • Status changed from new to assigned
  • Type changed from enhancement to setup
  • Version set to 0.4

The email is converted to:

  • ascci text will become the description
  • other become attachments
  • ticket fields depend on trac.ini/email2trac.conf

No someone replies on an email send by trac then email2trac will scan the subject line:

  • if this is an update it will be added as comment
    • attachments will be attached to existing ticket
  • if not see above

In particular, is there a sample of what a ticket would look like inside Trac that was e-mailed in fro the outside?

It depends on which settings are enabled in /etc/email2trac,conf. But it is the sane as filled in with the web interface

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from assigned to closed


Add Comment

Modify Ticket

Change Properties
as closed The owner will remain anonymous.
The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.

E-mail address and user name can be saved in the Preferences.
