Description

Hi,

I need bonding support for sali and I have seen that this feature is disabled in the busybox config. How can I enable it?

All the best,
Marcel

which option must be enabled in busybox? You have to download the source and enable the option and then build the sali kernel/initrd

Can you say which option is missing. Then we can enable it upstream and release a new version with bondin support. So more people can benefit.

Yes, of course. I have changed the option "CONFIG_IFENSLAVE=y" in the busybox.config.

I want to share some more informations about my special case and I hope to help other people with it.

Our switches are configured with bond mode 802.3ad (a trunk of 2 ports per server) and the image server has fixed leases with the mac address from the first interface (each server has a 4 port nic and only 2 ports are used).

I have changed the original S1_network script for this special case (it is attached). The script is not perfect, but maybe it can serve as a template. Please feel free to use or change it.

All the Best,
Marcel

You're welcome.

I have another problem and I hope you can help. The networking connection is working fine now, but I receive the error "Missing value for SALI_IMAGESERVER".

I have set the following options in my dhcpd.conf:
option sali-imgsrv code 224 = ip-address;
option sali-imgsrv 192.168.100.254;

Also, I have tried to append the ip address as kernel parameter:

APPEND initrd=/x86_64/standard/initrd.img root=/dev/ram ramdisk_blocksize=1024 ramdisk_size=120000 LOGLEVEL=3 IMAGESERVER=192.168.100.254

But both methods don't work. Do you have an tip for me?

All the best,
Marcel

The problem is solved now. I have forgotten to mention that I have switched from SALI version 1.5.7 to version 1.7.0 and the parameter is now SALI_IMAGESERVER.

All the best,
Marcel
